Trinity Health, one of the largest Catholic health care systems — and the 12th largest health system — in the United States, was formed in 2000 when the Holy Cross Health System merged with Mercy Health Services in a singular Mission:
“We serve together in Trinity Health In the spirit of the Gospel To heal body, mind and spirit To improve the health of our communities And to steward the resources entrusted to us.”
Sharing the traditions of its founders, the Sisters of Mercy Regional Community of Detroit and the Congregation of the Sister of the Holy Cross, Trinity Health is a faith-based organization — specifically a Catholic health care delivery system — devoted to a ministry of healing and hope and drawing on a rich and compassionate history extending beyond 140 years.
