50th Anniversary Celebration!

5K run/walk for Cancer and Community Open House

- Healthy fun for the whole family! -

(Livonia, MI) – St. Mary Mercy Hospital is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year with festivities on Sunday, September 13. We are hosting our 3rd Annual 5K run/walk for Cancer at 9 a.m. and our Community Open House immediately following from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the theme, “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.” It will surely be a day packed full of activity and fun!

5K Run/Walk for Cancer – sponsored by BrightHouse Networks

9 a.m. - Race Begins

The 5K run/walk is for cancer awareness…it is a celebration of life for cancer survivors, for those who have cancer, and an opportunity for family members and friends to participate to honor or remember a loved one. It is a time and place to come together to support and strengthen each other.

    • Awards will be given to the first, second and third place overall male and female winners of each age division of the 5K Run.

    • The USATF-certified course begins on St. Mary Mercy Hospital grounds and runners/walkers are then routed through the residential streets of Livonia.

    • Runners and walkers who register before September 4 are guaranteed a race T-shirt.

    • Registration is now open online at www.active.com/or visit www.stmarymercy.org/ for more information. Registration is $20 before September 4, 2009; and $25 from September 5 to Race Day.

    • Any proceeds from this event go toward St. Mary Mercy’s Cancer Services to assist patients in need.

11 a.m. – 3 p.m. – A variety of FREE activities for everyone! This event is celebrating our history and current progress, as well as future growth.
